Ever had a negative thought or memory you can’t seem to shake?

We are told in the Bible to think about whatever is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent or praiseworthy (Philippians 4:8). But when we get caught up in stressful situations, sometimes listening to God’s voice of truth seem challenging. But it is important to give God’s word the megaphone, not the negativity like fears or worries. The truth sets us free as John 8:32 says. We are also told to renew our minds and let God change the way we think (Romans 12:2).

Reading these verses we can see how when we take time to let God’s word dwell in our hearts and minds, we give it the place of importance. We give his truth about love, joy and peace mastery over fears, anger and doubt. When we approach God and ask for His guidance, He is always ready to give it. He goes a step further and even wants to help us figure out how to apply those truths to our lives. God gives wisdom to all who ask (James 1:5).

All that said, in order to receive His peace over our mind’s problems, we have to listen to His words above everything else. As Isaiah 26:3 says, “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.”

Question: What verse or verses could you use to magnify God’s truth over a difficult situation in your life?
