How to Stay Anchored in Abundance

As a Christian, I believe that God has gifted all of us with some form of creativity. Since we were made in His image, and He is the first and best Creator, we all reflect that in some form or another.

So what do I mean when I say I co-create with the Divine Artist? What does it look like to me? I figured now’s the time to describe that process just a little bit.

I start each day plunging into scripture (and coffee haha!)…

Three Ways to Refreshment This Weekend

Hey friends! Happy Friday!

If anyone out there had a tough week, a long week or maybe a long month, I wanted to share the top three ways I rejuvenate! After all, as many of you know, we just can’t pour from empty cups! I’m going to go through these and answer the “Why should I bother with this?” question too! If you’re like me, you want a good reason for why you’re trying something, right?

The Ride to Freedom

The painting above was inspired by a photograph I saw recently. In the photo, a focused rider spurred his horse on towards freedom from the flames. Either only for himself or to go get help.

Either way, it got me thinking about freedom. Although we have a choice in the matter, we often fall victim to many things we have been freed from, even though there is a better option. Don’t agree with me? Have you promised yourself this week “I will not think badly about myself, or this person".” or “I’m going to wake up early” “I’m going to workout every day this week”? Only to when you are unable to, you beat yourself up and start the cycle over again?

The Creativity Inside of You

I recently made a little how-to video on drawing for Instagram. It was fun to make because I honestly believe we all have an innate creativity inside of us. Because of that, I like to encourage it in others. However, often when I talk to most people about art the conversation goes like this:

We are merely passing through on this little planet. Sure, it feels big and we want to make it comfortable more than we need to. But this world is not our home. Through it all, we walk through each season with God. We are never alone. The daily events, the crisis moments, the victories- God is with us each step…

For Peace Today, Try This

I love clouds. When I was younger, I would stare at clouds and see animals or faces. In the morning and at night, I love watching how white clouds change into gorgeous colors. As I walked earlier, I felt God tug at my heart. He loves us so much that He often gives beautiful paintings..

How to Win as the Underdog

One of the most famous kings, the Hebrew King David, was known for being one of biggest underdogs of all time. Before he was king, he was a shepherd boy, the youngest and least of all his seven brothers. But going from rags to richest did not make David proud, but instead more aware of his need for God. In fact, he relied on God so much, he constantly said….

A Daily Lily a Day Keeps Wasted Days Away

God opens up a new day lily every morning and it only lasts for a day. No one looks at that and calls it a “waste.” This morning when I was reading this scripture from Matthew 6:30-34 (MSG), I realized that our worrying about anything is truly wasted.
